On Saturday, he got it in an unedifying spectacle that achieved nothing except add to the Japanese boxer's already considerable ego. When this fight was announced, it was to a mixture of apathy and consternation. The only mercy for Pongsaklek is that this tawdry affair will not blot his official record.
